  • NEWSBYTE: DOE Issues Energy Standards Framework for Battery Chargers, Power Supplies Print Page Tell Friend

    July 2009 (09NB-200)

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a “Framework” document for the future development of energy conservation standards for battery chargers and Class A external power supplies.

Issued in May, the Framework “describes the procedural and analytical approaches that DOE anticipates using to evaluate energy conservation standards for BCs (battery chargers) and ESPs (external power supplies)”.

The DOE stated that it hopes the issuance of the Framework will facilitate input from manufacturers and other parties interested in the regulatory development process for these products.

In addition, the DOE has also released a draft technical report that describes the Department’s past analysis on battery charges and external power supplies.
