    In April 2010, Bureau Veritas announced that the Group’s classed fleet reaches more than 9,000 vessels, totalling over 70 million gross tons

    The company experience and presence on every part of the world, the diversity of its fleet and expertise base are some of the strengths that enable Bureau Veritas to remain strong, reflecting the trust that yards and owners place on its services.



    "Classification" is the appraisement of the level of compliance of a vessel to the rules set up by the class society. Which is transcribed in the classification society’s register.

    Bureau Veritas’ mission of classification is to contribute to the development and implementation of technical standards for the protection of life, property and the environment.

    The Marine division of Bureau Veritas "classes" all types of vessels: passenger vessels, oil tankers, bulk carriers, containerships, naval ships and many others.
